Thankful Thursday is for you

Make new friends, but keep the old.  Join your friends and church family for the weekly Thankful Thursday pitch-in dinners on Thursday evenings at 6 pm.  Come even if you can’t bring something, because there is always plenty and you can make a donation to help replenish supplies such as table service.  Everyone is welcome.  This year we also hope to build on this time for a variety of additional activities.  Don’t miss this weekly meal.

Rally Sunday is Back

It’s Rally Sunday on September 29th!
Join us as we draw together in renewing our energy for the common purpose of growing in trust and obedience to Jesus Christ.  We have special rally activities planned for both kids and adult.  Looking forward to a year of:
  • Sunday School Classes for all ages
  • Bible Studies of all lengths
  • Cottage meetings
  • Book Studies in all genres
  • and more…
The fun begins at our 8:30 New Beginnings Service and continues into our Christian Education time then finishes with our Traditional Worship at 10:40.  Join us for any or all of it, it’s your choice.

The Undies have been delivered

The week of Aug 29th was a great week for the kids at Rushville Elementary Schools.  St. Paul’s United Methodist “dropped their drawers” to help the school nurse restock her undies closet so that kids don’t have to be embarrassed when those little accidents happen.

Mission Opportunity – “Undie Sunday” is Coming August 21st!!!!

Undie
If you have ever had children of your own, or worked with children, you know that extreme excitement can sometimes lead to personal accidents. These accidents happen quite frequently at school, especially in the elementary school level. We here at St. Paul’s would like to help our school age children by sponsoring “UNDIE SUNDAY”. Undie Sunday is going to be a time that we as a congregation can bring in new child’s size underwear to be donated to the local elementary school to help the school nurse, Laura Proctor, administer aid to those children in need after an accident. So, on August 21 we will have a large tub in our worship service to collect new children’s underwear and child’s sized sweat pants (these can be used as long as they are in great condition). What a great way to make our amazing schools even better.

Worship in the Park

Mark your Calendars: Our annual Worship in the Park will be Sunday, September 18. We will begin worship at 10:00 a.m in South Veteran’s Memorial Park by the gazebo for a time of singing, worshiping, and fellowship.  A pitch-in lunch will follow in the shelter house.  Please bring your family and friends and join us. Bring a chair and comfortable clothing for the weather.  We are asking everyone to bring a favorite dish to share for our pitch-in dinner and table service.
It is always such a wonderful day when we gather together outside to give God our praise and share life together.

I.P.O.D. Class hosts luncheon and games

Join St. Paul’s youth for a luncheon on August 14, 2016.  There will be outdoor games and lots of fun.  Money raised from the luncheon will help support Operation Shoebox and church camp scholarships. I.P.O.D. class looks forward to serving you.
Come join the fun.
If you have questions, contact Deby Priddy or the church office at 932-3777

Bike and Build-’16

July 13-14th St Paul’s will host approximately 34 individuals ages 18-25.  These bikers will arrive Wednesday evening with empty bellies and rest their weary bones.  They bike about 100 miles a day starting at the east coast and end on the west coast.  “Our group” travels from Maine to Santa Barbara  along the way they stop to help build Habitat houses.  If you wish to follow their blog click on the link.  They always look forward to our stop because we provide large quantities of home-cooked meals that also take into account their dietary needs (allergies, vegetarianism, and high carb requirements)  We enjoy serving them.  Come help us provide food, serve, shuttle, donate funds, or just visit with them.  For more information contact Debby Priddy via the church office (765) 932-3777.

Hope Spot returns

Hope Spot has set its Saturday community clothing dates for 2016
(9 to 11 a.m.) as follows:
  • October 1
We will need help on each of these days. This year, we will hold all of the events inside the church in the Wesley Room with clothing overflow in the hallway.
If you are able to commit to help on any of these days, please contact Micki Gordon or Carolyn Kramer.
Duties include checking, checking out, and assisting the clients find the location of their needed clothing.
We also will need some help with setting up and tearing down for each date.
Thanks for your willingness to help with this mission.
