Annual Hanging of the Greens Service

Join St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in their traditional service, Hanging of the Greens,
to start the Advent season. There will be a modified version of the service during the 10:40 service,
then at 6:30 the people of the church will gather to get the sanctuary fully “dressed” for the Christmas season.
Join us for song and celebration of Advent.

Support our local Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is asking for monetary donations for their Christmas Sacks.
They will fill from 400-425 sacks, that will   all be filled with like items.
If you wish to donate please send a check to Rush County Food Pantry, 109 east 3rd St., or see Beverly Howell.
We feel the need will be greater this year since the Carthage Food Pantry has closed.
Gleaners will not be back until April. We are getting new clients every day we are open.

Christmas Adopt-A-Child mission

Christmas Adopt-A-Child mission

A Christmas tree is up and filled with tags containing pertinent info on kids whose parents are having a hard time making ends meet. This year we selected kids recommended by the school nurse at RES, who are not children from the usual families requesting help, but instead kids whose parent may have lost a job or have other financial distress, be away serving our country in the military, or have died.
Select a tag, please sign on the log by the tag number you have chosen.
We will also have a sign-up for people who will help host on December 10 at 9:00 a.m.  when our church opens our arms to the families who come to wrap the gifts you have graciously provided, and to share in fellowship with them.

Family Christmas Photos

Help raise money for signage around the church.
Gather your family for a Christmas family photo that you can share with friends and family.
A holiday themed background will be set up for photos to be taken on November 20th, 27th, and Dec 4th after church in the basement.  A sign up will be available at the church office and in the back of the Sanctuary for a 20 minute time slot.  A $10 non-refundable deposit will hold your slot.  Additional donations may be made later to support this fundraiser.  Robin Sowder will donate her time to take photos and edit them.  Your photos will be emailed to you or placed on a CD for you to do as you chose with them.  Many places (CVS,Walgreens, Wal-Mart) and online sites will create wonderful Christmas cards with photos you upload.

Generosity and Gratitude

The Finance Team is happy to announce that this year’s Stewardship Campaign, titled Generosity and Gratitude, started in October and will end on Gratitude Sunday with a meal and the presentation of our gratitude cards on November 13.

The Generosity and Gratitude Stewardship Process is based on the Christian belief that God is exceedingly generous to us and we are deeply grateful to God for the love and blessings God has given us. We joyfully give our time, talent and treasure to God as an expression of our gratitude for all God has first given us.
